What MMOW provides:

Great tasting nutritious meals to Marin County’s largest growing population segment. This year alone, MMOW will distribute 90,000 meals to recipients all over the county. In partnership with the Marin County Division of Aging, MMOW’s Home Delivered Meals and Congregate Food Programs are made available through the U.S. Older Americans Act. MMOW achieved a 100% level of satisfaction from our Meals on Wheels Recipients while people are attending MMOW Luncheon events in record levels. MMOW is committed to providing good food and reliable nutrition. When people eat well they feel well and remain independent.

Sponsorship Program:

MMOW receives partial funding for our programs, but it's not enough. We ask for a contribution from our clients for the meals they recieve, however, many of them simply can't afford to help. There are over 150 seniors in our Home Delivered Program who are unable to contribute to this program and the number is growing.

You can make a difference by making a donation for a senior that lives in your area. $3.50 is all it will take to provide the next meal for a senior in need. MMOW is a new division of RACS- a 501c3 Non Profit organization established in 1977 and has the experience of over ONE MILLION SENIOR MEALS SERVED AND DELIVERED. RACS is short for Russian American Community Services Association of San Francisco, Inc. Federal Tax ID # 94-2515360. Funding for this program, at least in part, is made available by the Older Americans Act, administered locally by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Aging.

Home Delivered Meals Program

At Marin Meals on Wheels our cause is simple; delivering food and friendship to Homebound Seniors. Each day hundreds of Senior Adults in Marin County open their door to a smiling face and a nutritious meal.

MMOW is dedicated to delivering food to the frail, elderly, and homebound seniors who can not provide themselves a nutritious meal on their own accord. More than just a meal, Marin Meals on Wheels is also a routine monitoring service, which for some, acts as their one and only form of regular personal contact.

Currently, there is no waiting list. Food is distributed to those clients in the greatest need as based and determined by a client assessment and intake evaluation. If a need is established, we design a schedule to suit your nutritional needs. Professional referrals are not needed to receive Home Delivered Meals Services , anyone over age 60 can apply by contacting our main office. Applicants must be at least 60 years of age. There is no means test, so qualifying is not based simply on a financial positioning.

Entree Re-Heating Instructions

Microwave:

- Tear open one end of plastic wrap.

- Place package into microwave.

- Set on High for 5-7 minutes

- Remove packaging & enjoy.

Conventional Oven:

- Remove wrapping.

- Preheat oven to 350.

- Cover in foil & place on cookie sheet.

- Cook entree for 35 minutes.

- Remove foil & enjoy.
